Let x,y supplementary angles, then

x+y=180\degree

One of the is 56° larger than the other, let us say x is that angle, which means

y=x+56\degree

Replacing the last expression in the first

x+(x+56\degree)=180\degree\Rightarrow2x=180\degree-56\degree=124

Finally,

2x=124\degree\Rightarrow x=(124\degree)/(2)=62\degree

And

y=62\degree+56\degree=118\degree
