The total number of cans has to be equal or greater than 83.

The number of cans he collects is equal to the ones that he had already collected (48) plus c.

Then, if the total number of cans collected has to be equal or greater than 83, we can write:

48+c\ge83

We can solve this inequality as:

\begin{gathered} 48+c\ge83 \\ 48+c-48\ge83-48 \\ c\ge35 \end{gathered}

Answer: c>=35
