Basketball player salary = $1.8 x 10^6 / year

Teacher salary = $ 5.6 x 10^4 / year

Convert the teacher's salary to the same exponent as the Basketball player salary.

Teacher's salary = $5.6 x 10^4 = $0.056 x 10^6

Substract = 1.8 x 10^6 - 0.056 x 10^6

= 1.744 x 10^6

Result

$1.744 x 10^6
