we know that

The volume of the square pyramid is equal to

v=(1)/(3)\cdot B\cdot h

where

B is the area of the square base

h is the height of the pyramid

step 1

Find the area of the base B

B=(1.5^2)=2.25 in2

step 2

Find the volume

\begin{gathered} v=(1)/(3)\cdot B\cdot h \\ we\text{ have} \\ B=2.25in^2 \\ h=1.5\text{ in} \\ \text{substitute} \\ V=(1)/(3)\cdot(2.25)\cdot(1.5) \\ V=1.125\text{ in\textasciicircum{}3} \end{gathered}

therefore

the volume is 1.1 cubic inches
