We are given the expression k-12 = 17. We are to use one of the property to solve for the value of k.

we will need to make k the subject of the formula.

To do that, simply add 12 to both sides of the eqjuation as shown;

k-12+12 = 17+12

k +0 = 29

k = 29

Since we added the same value to both sides of the equation without compromising the equality sign, the property applied here is the ADDITION PROPERTY.
