Given:

p(x)=5x^4+7x^3-2x^2-3x+c

Suppose (x+1) is a factor of the given function. So, x = -1 will satisfy the function.

\begin{gathered} \text{Put x=-1 in the given function} \\ f(-1)=0 \\ 5(-1)^4+7(-1)^3-2(-1)^2-3(-1)+c=0 \\ 5-7-2+3+c=0 \\ c=1 \end{gathered}

Answer: c = 1
