In general, given two points, one can find the equation of a line using the formula below

\begin{gathered} (x_1,y_1),(x_2,y_2) \\ y-y_1=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)(x-x_1) \end{gathered}

Therefore,in our case, since the loine goes through (0,1) and (1,-3),

\begin{gathered} y-1=(-3-1)/(1-0)(x-0) \\ \Rightarrow y-1=-4x \\ \Rightarrow y=-4x+1 \\ \Rightarrow slope=-4,y-intercept=1 \end{gathered}

Thus, the answer iare

Equation: y=-4x+1

Slope: -4

y-Intercept: 1
