8 7. In an experiment, the probability that event A occurs is the probability that event B occurs is, and 9' 8 5 the probability that events A and B both occur is - 6. What is the probability that A occurs given that B occurs? Simplify any fractions.

Solution

For this case we have the following info:

P(A)= 7/8

P(B)= 8/9

P(A and B) = 5/6

And we want to find this probability:

P(A|B) = P(A and B) /P(B) = 5/6 /(8/9) = 15/16
