The equation bx + ay = ab expressed in intercept form is shown as;


\begin{gathered} (x)/(a)+(y)/(b)=1 \\ \text{When x=0,} \\ b(0)+ay=ab \\ ay=ab \\ y=(ab)/(a) \\ y=b \\ \text{When y=0} \\ bx+a(0)=ab \\ bx=ab \\ x=(ab)/(b) \\ x=a \\ \text{Therefore, the x-intercept is a, and the y intercept is b} \\ \text{The equation in intercept form is now;} \\ (x)/(a)+(y)/(b)=1 \end{gathered}

Note that the x and y intercepts have been indicated in the course of solving the question.
