We will first convert the numbers to be operated on to fractions.

\begin{gathered} -12.41=-(1241)/(100) \\ -9.95=-(995)/(100) \end{gathered}

Performing subtraction operation gives:

\begin{gathered} -(1241)/(100)-(-(995)/(100)) \\ -(1241)/(100)+(995)/(100)=(-1241+995)/(100) \\ -(1241)/(100)+(995)/(100)=-(246)/(100)=-(123)/(50) \\ -(1241)/(100)+(995)/(100)=-(123)/(50) \end{gathered}
