Station 4 – Estimating ()1. You are responsible for determining how many tickets can be sold at Aaron’sAmphitheatre. There are 8,000 seats at this venue, plus there is a lawn that is rectangular (100 ft by 400 ft). How many tickets can you sell if you know that one person takes up 2.5 square ft?

There are 8,000 seats at this venue.

There is a lawn that is rectangular 100 ft by 400 ft.

One person takes up 2.5 square ft.

To find number of tickets to be sold:

Area of the rectangular lawn is,


\begin{gathered} A=100*400 \\ =40000\text{ sq. ft} \end{gathered}

Number of persons those who occupies the rectangular lawn is,


(40000)/(2.5)=16000

Hence, the total number of tickets to be sold is,

8000+16000=24000 tickets.

Hence, the answer is, 24000 tickets.
