33. The Passive House Standard is a strict building code used as a guideline for building energy-effiecent homes. One Passive House guideline states that no more than 11.1 kWh (kilowatt-hours) per square foot should be used annually for the total energy use of the house. What would this annual maximum be for a 2460-square-foot house?

Note that we are told that the standard says that the maximum power consumption should be 11.1kWh per square foot.

So, for any household it must happen that if we take its maximum power consumption and divide it by its area, we should get the given rate.

So, let x be the maximum power consumption. Since the area is 2460 square foot, we have that

(x)/(2460)=11.1

So if we multiply both sides by 2460, we get that

x=2460\cdot11.1=27306

So the maximum power consumption of the house hould is 27306 kWh.
