Rectangle:

Length, l=60cm.

Breadth, b=40cm.

Circle:

Radius, r=10cm.

There are 2 circles with the same radius.

To find the area of the shaded region:

Using the formula,


\begin{gathered} Shaded\text{ area, }A=\text{Area of rectangle-2}* Area\text{ of the circle} \\ A=lb-2*\pi r^2 \\ =60*40-2*3.14*10^2 \\ =2400-628 \\ =1772cm^2 \end{gathered}

Hence, the shaded area is 1772 square cm.
