Multiply 7 by 11 and 11 by 7:

\begin{gathered} (5)/(7)\cdot(1)/(11)=(5)/(77) \\ (8)/(11)\cdot(1)/(7)=(8)/(77) \end{gathered}

As you can see if you have two number divide for the same amount, the greater will be the one with the largest numerator, For example:

\begin{gathered} (8)/(4)=2 \\ (12)/(4)=3 \end{gathered}

Therefore, we can conclude:

(5)/(7)<(8)/(7)
