Michael and Imani go out to eat for lunch Part AIf their food and beverages cost $25. 30 and there is an 8% meals tax, how much is the bill? Part BIf Michael and Imani add an 18% tip to the bill, what does their lunch cost in total?

A) Since we want to find the total of $25.30 plus the 8% of the meals tax, we can calculate the total in the following way:


\begin{gathered} 8\%=0.08 \\ \Rightarrow25.30(1+0.08)=25(1.08)=27.32 \end{gathered}

therefore ,the bill after the meals tax is $27.32

B)Now we want to add 18% tip to the bill. We can proceed like the previous part to get the following:


\begin{gathered} 18=0.18 \\ \Rightarrow27.32(1+0.18)=27.32(1.18)=32.24 \end{gathered}

therefore, the total cost of the lunch is $32.24
