Explain how to find the equation of a line given the point (5, 3) and it has a y-intercept of 13.

the equation of line will be

y = mx + c

it is given c = 13

it passes through (5,3)

so

3 = m(5) + 13

from here

3 = 5m + 13

5m = 3-13

m = -10/5

m = -2

so the equation of line is

y = -2x + 13
