You have the following equation:

x+10=-12

in order to solve for x, add -10 both sides of the equation and simplify, as follow:

\begin{gathered} x+10-10=-12-10 \\ x=-22 \end{gathered}

Then, x = -22

When you verify the equation by using the previous value of x, you obtain:

\begin{gathered} -22+10=-12 \\ -12=-12 \end{gathered}

Hence, the equation is consistent
