Step 1

W = represents the original acreage.

The decrease percentage (4%) , which give:


\begin{gathered} (4)/(100)*\text{ W} \\ (4)/(100)*(W)/(1)\text{ = }(4W)/(100)\text{ = 0.04W} \\ \end{gathered}

New acreage becomes: W - 0.04W = 0.96W

Therefore the answers are (A) W - 0.04W and (F) 0.96W
