Given that the distance is d = 39.2 km.

As 1 km = 1000 m, so d =39200 m

The time taken is t = 2 hours 24 minutes and 24 seconds

As 1 minute = 60 seconds and 1 hour = 60 minutes.

So the time will be


\begin{gathered} t\text{ = (2}*60*60)+(24*60)+24\text{ seconds} \\ =7200+1440+24 \\ =8664\text{ s} \end{gathered}

The speed can be calculated by the formula


\begin{gathered} v=(d)/(t) \\ =(39200)/(8664) \\ =4.52\text{ m/s} \end{gathered}

The speed is 4.52 m/s
