(3)/(5)+(7)/(8)+(3)/(10)

Find the least common denominator:

Identify the multiples of each denominator:

\begin{gathered} 5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45 \\ 8,16,24,32,40,48 \\ 10,20,30,40,50 \end{gathered}

The least common denominator is 40.

Write each equation with that denominator:

\begin{gathered} =(3\cdot8)/(5\cdot8)+(7\cdot5)/(8\cdot5)+(3\cdot4)/(10\cdot4) \\ \\ =(24)/(40)+(35)/(40)+(12)/(40) \end{gathered}

Add the fractions:

\begin{gathered} =(24+35+12)/(40) \\ \\ =(71)/(40) \end{gathered}
