a rectangle has a length of 5 cm and a width of 3 cm. Every time I mention is double to form a second rectangle. What is the ratio of the perimeters of the two rectangles? please help :,)

we know that

The perimeter of a rectangle is equal to

P=2(L+W)

where

L is the length

W is the width

we have that

Every dimension is doubled to for a second rectangle

so

Perimeter of the original rectangle is

P=2(5+3)=16 cm

If the dimensions is doubled then

L=10 cm

W=6 cm

so

P2=2(10+6)=32 cm

therefore

the ratio of the perimeters of the two rectangles are

P/P2

16/32

1/2

the ratio is 1/2
