We can use the point slope formula to find the slope intercept form of the equation.

y-y1=m(x-x1)

Where m is the slope and x1 and y1 are the coordinates of the given point. Replace for the given values:

y-5=-(1)/(2)(x-(-2))

Now, solve for y to find the slope intercept form of the equation:

\begin{gathered} y-5=-(1)/(2)x-1 \\ y=-(1)/(2)x-1+5 \\ y=-(1)/(2)x+4 \end{gathered}

The equation of the line is:

y=-(1)/(2)x+4
