x = 8/5

We subtract 10 from both sides

-10x + 10 = -6

-10 -10

-10x = -6 - 10

Subtract -6 and 10

-10x = -16

Divide both of the numbers by the same factor

-10x / 10 -16 / -10

Cancel terms that are in both the numerator and denominator

-10x / -10 = -16 / -10

x = -16 / 10

Divide the numbers

x = -16 / 10

x = 8/5

So therefor, your answer would be x = 8/5
