If two lines are parallel, it means that they have the same slope

If two lines are perpendicular, then the slope of one line is the negative reciprocal of the other line.

The equation of a line in slope intrcept form is expressed as

y = mx + c

where

m represents slope

c represents y intercept

The given equation is 2x + 5

Slope = 2

Comparing with the given equations,

y = 2x + 4 is parallel to the given equation

y = - 2x + 3 is neither parallel nor perpendicular

y = - 1/2x + 2 is perpendicular(- 1/2 is negative reciprocal of 2)

y = 2x - 1 is parallel to the given equation

y = 1/2x + 5 is neither parallel nor perpendicular to the given equation
