Given:

A line DF and its measure 5x + 7. Measure of DE = 7cm and measure of EQ = 4x + 3.

Required:

Find the length of DF?

Explanation;

From figure we can draw conclusion that

\begin{gathered} DE+EF=DF \\ 7+4x+3=5x+7 \\ x=3 \end{gathered}

So, length of DF

\begin{gathered} =5x+7 \\ =5(3)+7 \\ =15+7 \\ =22 \end{gathered}

Answer:

Length of DF = 22cm.
