Another friend claims that you can use cosine ratio to find the height of the platform. Explain why JJ’s approach is or isn’t a reasonable approach to finding the height of the platform.

Given:

A diagram is given describing a ramp and a platform.

Find:

we have to find the height of the platform.

Step-by-step explanation:

The length of the ramp is given as 3.5 meter.

The height of the platform is equal to the perpendicular BC of triangle ABC, so its enough to find the Perpendicular BC.

We will use sine formula as

sin28^o=(BC)/(3.5)=BC=3.5(sin28^o)=3.5(0.47)=1.645

Therefore, the height of the platform is 1.645 meter.

Since, the lengths like base and perpendicular of the triangle are not given, So JJ's approach is not a reasonable approach to find the height of the platform.
