Given :

The graph shows a proportional relationship between time and number of boxes a machine packages.

So, the relation between x and y will be :


y=k\cdot x

From the graph : in 8 minutes , the number of boxes = 480

so,


\begin{gathered} k=(480)/(8)=60 \\ \\ y=60x \end{gathered}

To find the number of boxes in 5 minutes, substitute with x = 5


y=60\cdot5=300

So, the answer is : the number of boxes in 5 minutes = 300 box
