If two angles are supplementary they add up to 180 degrees, therefore:

\begin{gathered} \angle A+\angle B=180 \\ where: \\ \angle A=5x-4 \\ \angle B=x-2 \\ so: \\ 5x-4+x-2=180 \\ Add_{\text{ }}like_{\text{ }}terms: \\ 6x-6=180 \\ 6x=180+6 \\ 6x=186 \\ x=(186)/(6) \\ x=31 \end{gathered}

Answer:

a. 31
