Write an equation of a line that is parallel to the line whose equation is 3y = x + 6 and that passes through the point (-3,4).

you have to simplify the formula given: y=1/3x+2

so mparallel=m given --> mparallel=1/3

formula of a line passing through a point: y-y0=m(x-x0)

so:

y-4=1/3(x+3)

y=1/3x+1+4

y=1/3x+5
