This is a question on relating proportions and our approach will be to cross-multiply.

1.1\colon42=3.3\colon x

This can be rearranged to get:

\begin{gathered} (1.1)/(42)=(3.3)/(x) \\ \text{Cross multiplying gives:} \\ 1.1x=3.3*42 \\ x=(3.3*42)/(1.1) \\ x=3*42=126 \end{gathered}

x =
