a = 9

Step-by-step explanation:

The sides of one othe triangle: 2, 4, 6

The sides of the other triangle are: 3, 6, ?

For two triangles to be similar, the ratio of their corresponding sides are equal:

ratio = 2/3 = 4/6 = 6/?

4/6 = 2/3

Each of the ratio shpould give 2/3

let the unknown = a

4/6 = 6/a

2/3 = 6/a

cross multiply:

3(6) = 2(a)

18 = 2a

18/2 = 2a/2

a = 9

Checking our answer: 6/9 = 2/3

Hence, the missing side is 9

if the sides of one triangle are links 2, 4, and 6 and another triangle has sides of lengths 3, 6 __9__,then the triangles are similar.
