WEST SELLE the 14/1/1 A vacation home in Long Beach, Caliomia rents for $165 per day. The function f(x) = 165x glves the cost of renting the home for x days. What is the domain of this function? We have the following function

f(x)=165x

Where x is the number of days and f(x) is the corresponding rent.

The domain is all the possible values for x (number of days )

Now we know that you cannot rent for a fractional number of days or negative number of days so option D is straight away incorrect since real numbers also include integers and rational numbers.

The number of possible days must be discrete like 0, 1, 2, 3 and so on

So, option B makes complete sense for the domain of this function.

The domain of the function is

domain=\mleft\lbrace0,1,2,3,\ldots\mright\rbrace

Note that option A (x ≥ 0) suggests that the numbers of days may also be decimal like 0.15, 1.23 etc. so it is also incorrect.

Also, option C is the range of the function that is possible values of rent f(x) so it is also incorrect.
