We have a piece of metal with a long of 8 cm and a wide of 6 cm, to find its area we must use the following equation

A_R=L\cdot W

Where L=8 cm and W=6 cm

\begin{gathered} A_R=8\operatorname{cm}\cdot6\operatorname{cm} \\ A_R=48\operatorname{cm}^2 \end{gathered}

The answer is 48 cm^2
