Given a linear equation 8x - y = 1

\begin{gathered} y\text{ = mx + c} \\ 8x\text{ - y = 1} \\ 8x\text{ - 1 = y} \\ y\text{ = 8x - 1} \\ m\text{ = 8 , c = -1} \end{gathered}

equation that represents a line which is parallel to the line 8x - y = 1

for Parallel equation m₁ = m₂ (same slope)

Option A is wrong the slope are not equal

Option B is wrong the slope are not equal

Option C is wrong the slope are not equal

Option D is correct since the slope are equal

Hence the equation 8x - y = 1 is parallel to y = 8x -3
