Question:

Solution:

Consider the following functions:

f(x)\text{ = 7x}

and

g(x)\text{ = x+ 8}

Thus, we have the following compositions:

(f\circ g)(x)\text{ = f(g(x)) = 7g(x) = 7(x+8) = 7x +56}

and

(g\circ f)(x)\text{ = }g(f(x))\text{ = f(x)+8 = 7x+8}

then we can conclude that:

(f\circ g)(x)\text{ = 7x +56}

and

(g\circ f)(x)\text{ = }g(f(x))\text{ =7x+8}

and both compositions are not the same (does not equal).
