This is a simple question to solve. Let's take a look at the following illustration

As we can see above, after the first hour of flight the plane has 160000 pounds of fuel, and after each hour it consumes 14000 pounds of fuel.

It means that after the 9th hour we have 160000-(14000*8) = 48000. So the final answer is 48,000 pounds (final option).
