Recall that the rule of transformation for a point (x,y) reflected over the x-axis is:

(x,y)\rightarrow(x,-y),

and the rule of transformation for a point translataled n units to the left is:

(x,y)\rightarrow(x-n,y).

Therefore, point B(4,2) reflected over the x-axis:

(4,2)\rightarrow(4,-2),

and then translated 3 units to the left has as image the following point:

(4,-2)\rightarrow(4-3,-2)=(1,-2).

Answer:

\begin{equation*} (1,-2). \end{equation*}
