we have the equation

g(t)=(1)/(3^t)

Find out the rate of change over the interval [0,1]

Remember that

the formula to calculate the rate of change is equal to

(g(b)-g(a))/(b-a)

In this problem

a=0

b=1

g(a)=g(0)=1

g(b)=g(1)=1/3

therefore

the function decreases by a factor of 3
