using trigonometric ratio


\tan 23^(\circ)=(13)/(y)
\begin{gathered} y=(13)/(\tan 23^(\circ)) \\ y=(13)/(0.42447481621) \\ y=30.6260807557 \\ y\approx30.6 \end{gathered}

Note

tan 23 = opposite/adjacent
