The distributive property can be applied in the following form:

a(b-c)=a* b-a* c

Now, the given values are: a=-4, b=s and c=4.

Let's replace them in the equation and solve:

\begin{gathered} -4(s-4)=(-4)\cdot(s)-(-4)\cdot(4) \\ By\text{ the law of signs -}\cdot-=+and-\cdot+=-\text{ thus:} \\ -4(s-4)=-4s+16 \end{gathered}

Then, the answer is -4s+16
