Given that x and y are positive integers and (x*2)+x(2^2)+(y*2^3)+(y*2^4)=42, what is the value of xy? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

x = 3, y = 1

Explanation:

If your question is this: 2x + 4x + 8y + 16y = 42

6x + 24y = 42

3x + 12y = 21

For x and y are positive integers, there is only 1 set of x = 3 and y = 1 is the solution (because x = 7 and y = 0 is excluded)

check: 6 + 12 + 8 + 16 = 42
