Explanation:

perpendicular is when the gradient of the existing equation is reciprocated (swapped sides and flipped)

new gradient- -1/2

so our new equation is y=-1/2x+c

we have the co-ordinates for x and y so substitute into new equation

1=(-1/2 x 0) + c

so c=1

Hence our equation is : y=-1/2x+1
