-4y-37=6y+13

solve for y:

add 4y to both sides:


\begin{gathered} -4y-37+4y=6y+13+4y \\ -37=10y+13 \end{gathered}

Subtract 13 from both sides:


\begin{gathered} -37-13=10y+13-13 \\ -50=10y \end{gathered}

Divide both sides by 10:


\begin{gathered} (10y)/(10)=-(50)/(10) \\ y=-5 \end{gathered}
