From the question,

Since both rectangle has a scale factor of 2,

L₁/L₂ = 2

Where L₁ and L₂ are the length of the first and second rectangle respectively

L₁ = 2L₂................ Equation 1

Also,

W₁/W₂ = 2............ Equation 2

Where W₁ and W₂ are the Width of the first and second rectangle respectively

W₁ = 2W₂

Area of a rectangle = Length × width

Area of first rectangle = L₁×W₁ = 2L₂×2W₂ = 4L₂W₂

Area of second rectangle = L₂×W₂= L₂W₂

The ratio of area = Area of the first rectangle/Area of the second rectangle = 4L₂W₂/L₂W₂ = 4
