In order to calculate the distance between A and C, we can use the Pythagorean Theorem, since we have a right triangle:


\begin{gathered} AC^2=12^2+5^2 \\ AC^2=144+25 \\ AC^2=169 \\ AC=13 \end{gathered}

So the distance between A and C is 13 meters.
