The volume of the cylinder is computed as follows:

V=\pi\cdot r^2\cdot h

where r is the radius and h is the height.

Substituting with r = 5 ft, and h = 9 ft, we get:

\begin{gathered} V=3.14\cdot5^2\cdot9 \\ V=706.5ft^3 \end{gathered}

The surface area of the cylinder is computed as follows:

A=2\cdot\pi\cdot r^2+2\cdot\pi\cdot r\cdot h

Substituting:

\begin{gathered} A=2\cdot3.14\cdot5^2+2\cdot3.14\cdot5\cdot9 \\ A=157+282.6 \\ A=439.6ft^2 \end{gathered}
