We have the following:

2x+4y=8

solving for y:

\begin{gathered} (2)/(4)x+(4)/(4)y=(8)/(4) \\ (1)/(2)x+y=2 \\ y=-(1)/(2)x+2 \end{gathered}

now, x- intercept is when y is equal to 0, therefore

\begin{gathered} 0=-(1)/(2)x+2 \\ (1)/(2)x=2 \\ x=2\cdot2 \\ x=4 \end{gathered}

y-intercept is when x is equal to 0, therefore

\begin{gathered} y=-(1)/(2)\cdot0+2 \\ y=2 \end{gathered}

The answer is:

x - intercept = (4, 0)

y - intercept = (0, 2)
