The equation for a straight line is given by

y=mx+b

where m is the slope and b is the intercept.

The formula to calculate m is,

\begin{gathered} m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1) \\ =(10-16)/(0-2)=(-6)/(-2)=3 \end{gathered}

Now the value of b can be calculated as, y intercept which here is, 10

Therefore, the required equation is, y=3x+10
