The base stands 12 inches tall. There is a sponge filling the bottom of the vase for the flower stands. It is 4 inches tall. How much space is left in the vase with for flowers?

Volume of the sponge = 3 x 3 x 4 = 36 in^2

Volume left = 108 - 36 = 72 in^2
