As per given by the question,

There are given that ,

4y^2+y-9,\text{ when y=-3}

Now,

There are given y=-3.

So,

Substitute the value -3 instead of y in given equation,

Then,

From the equation,

4y^2+y-9

Put the value of y in given equation,

4y^2+y-9=4(-3)^2+(-3)-9

Now, solve the above equation,

\begin{gathered} 4y^2+y-9=4(-3)^2+(-3)-9 \\ =4(9)-3-9 \\ =36-3-9 \\ =36-12 \\ =24 \end{gathered}

Hence, the value of given equation is 24.
